Dr. Jomar Barnard is a South African–trained family physician who has been practicing in Vernon, BC, since 2003. He has performed vasectomies for more than 20 years.

He shares an office with his wife, Dr. Louise Coetzer, at The Lighthouse Medical Clinic. Together, they specialize in all aspects of family medicine. Dr. Barnard is certified in Gunn IMS, offering an additional treatment option for patients suffering from chronic myofascial pain. For more than 28 years, Drs. Barnard and Coetzer delivered babies, retiring that part of their practice in 2021.

They have two sons, now young adults. In his free time, Dr. Barnard enjoys the many benefits of the beautiful Okanagan, including cycling, skiing, karate, hiking, and camping.
